myspace v facebook

so ive hopped on both bandwagons and ive found pros and cons to each place, however, i have made a decision as to which site im going to focus my time on. if u compare this page to my facebook then i think u can see which one it is.

Myspace Pros

1. pretty much everyone has one

2. customization of layout via HTML so u can have kickass background

3. BLOG!!!!! i love this blog and i wont stop posting in it. i need 2 blogs to keep my self-esteem up and this is totally one of them :P if u want the link to my other one, dont bother, cuz i post the same stuff on this as i do that

4. u can put a song on it. it gets kinda annoying sometimes but still a pretty cool feature.

Cons

1. not many people are using it anymore cuz of facebook

2. too many little kids are on this site. when i signed up it was for 16 year olds and up (well i was a bit too young at the time but uh hehe) and now u can go searching around and u can find myspaces for 10-11 year old girls who are just asking to be raped by some 40 year old guy. stupid people ruin it for everybody.

3. EVERYBODY has a myspace even like movies and crap. not cool. bands = awesome. movies = going a bit too far.

Facebook Pros

1. very easy to find particular people's accounts due to the fact that our first and last names are splattered everywhere :)

2. everything is neatly organized and easily accessible. if i want to find out what Bo Billy Bob's interests were, i can find it within 2 seconds once i reach his account. on myspace info is scattered everywhere mixed in with surveys and youtube videos which are nice, but kinda annoying.

3. the ability to put an RSS feed through it and other features like DA POKE!!!

Cons

1. your news feed gives you news about everything and everyone which i know u can tone down but its annoying nonetheless

2. the only way u can be notified of getting new picture or note comments is via email which i dont like in the beginning. at least on myspace u get a start up screen that outlines everything for you.

so as you can probably tell, i made my choice and that is *drum roll*

its the wave of the future and less and less people are using their myspaces. i mainly use mine to read bulletins and other shit like that when i have nothing else better to do. will i be doing much non-blog related stuff on here? probably not. sure i'll still comment people and upload pics and shit

but is my heart really in it?

no.

im devoting most of my energies on facebook cuz its a cool site. so yeah i reached my decision.

oh and this is the 150th post on my "high school guys ramblings" blog. making it my 171st blog in my blogging career. im proud of myself.

a break from spanish

workin hard on this presentation and i thought i'd take a minue or 2 or 10 to type up the thoughts going through my head rite now. not that any of you care, its more for me.

so today i got a B on my physics lab. i was positively ecstatic when i saw that grade and so were annie and mital. i havent gotten a B on a lab since early in first semester. i was like woah! holy crud! and that totally made my somewhat mediocre day.

we had our old foreign language honors society induction meeting tonite and that went ok altho there wasnt enough chairs so i hadta sit by myself instead of with the rest of the spanish students. well i guess thats what i get for walking in late lmfao.

altho its weird. im a very punctual person and i value punctuality greatly. i hate it when people are late and i usually am not late myself. most people will attest that if i say i will be at their house at noon, i will be there between 11:55 and 11:59. yeah i know im weird.

im pretty nervous about my spanish presentation tmrw. oh gosh no, im not nervous about talking in front of the class. i do that all the time. i love public speaking and people tell me that im pretty damn good at it. im just nervous cuz SO MUCH can go wrong. there is so much to lose, but there is so much to gain. if me and worek can pull this off we have an A in the bag. key word = if.

so many pieces to this puzzle. lets hope they fit together. i have a 90.8% in spanish rite now. lets hope this will help my grade :D i wonder how many As there are in the class. im thinking 3-5.

well im willing to take that gamble. i know my stuff. ive practiced. hopefully we'll do well. i like gambling. the payoff can be huge. i think this is one of those situations. put all of your chips on one hand and we'll see what happens.

i should probably get back to work now. bleh i hate life. all work and no play makes jason a dull boy......

Happy Feet- a critique

not every movie I see is worth of a “critique” but the movie I saw today at the Tivoli is definitely worthy of this distinction. is that a good thing? not necessarily. a bad thing? probably. well, you can judge it from yourself.

so I walk into the movie yawning in my head thinking that its just another kidding movie about a penguin who loves to dance around and sing (based on the trailer I saw for it). the movie did include a lot of this. (waaay too much for my standards.) if you want a lot of singing and dancing in your movie, that’s good that’s great. I am a big fan of classic musicals such as the west side story and guys and dolls. however, the music chosen was absolute shit and could’ve been improved if they replaced the hip hop with techno.

however, the dancing at least was tolerable but the singing got on my nerves more. anyways, the plot was a bit disjointed and confusing in parts, but it was ok.

the thing that I found most interesting about this movie was the sexual and far leftist political ideological overtones that I detected in it. I mean, the soccer moms go and take their kids to what looks like a kids movie and instead their kids are bombarded by some pretty sexual content (well I suppose you do need to be a bit older to understand all the references but I sure as hell detected quite a few besides the obvious ones)

what disturbed me even more was the far left wing messages in this movie. oh hell, just look at the frickin elders. they hate change. society as a whole hates change. one person comes in and stands up to them and their way of thinking and basically makes them lose their power. I kinda got the impression that its good to stand up to your elders and show them that you know whats best. time for anarchy everybody! overthrow the government! anarchy is so much better than bureaucracy I mean dancing is so much better than singing!

not to mention all of the environmentalist messages in the film with the fishing industries. I found the montage at the end of the world politicians debating on the issue hilarious because its true. everything goes back to the fat cats in Washington and quite frankly they’re not going to do anything if it affects the jobs of their constituents. why else haven’t there been more logging and oiling restrictions placed on the US? well those people need jobs. the economy needs them. we need to weigh out the pros and cons of having an environmentalist society.

the most obvious leftist tone I found in the movie had to do with the tiny penguins with the Mexican accents. the head elder (chief of the penguins) said that foreigners were the source of their problems. they had to kick out the foreigners and send them back to their own country. hmm. Mexicans are the problem. kick them out and put them back in their own country. that sounds a bit familiar. BUT the little penguins obviously aren’t the problem and this way of thinking is mocked throughout the whole movie. are the produces subliminally telling little kids that its perfectly ok for anyone to come across the border illegally and in the US because they cause no problems?
am I reading too much into this movie? maybe, but I highly doubt it. the overtones were perfectly clear to me and its rather scary how the media is trying to control the minds of youngsters and to produce a generation that is modeled in the way they want it to be. this analysis isn’t as thorough as it should be but I probably should get back to hw. I will leave you with that.

i didnt think so but this is a welldone film. very clever and with a somewhat good message. i dont approve of twisting facts and distorting the picture. (an extinction rate 1000x greater cuz of humans? doll, (or guy who ever made this film)i can assure you that that fact is exaggerated.) but good message nonetheless. now i may be a hardcore conservative dude who thinks abortion is wrong and that illegals should be shipped back to juarez or wherever the hell they came from, but i do support helping out the environment. im not going to go vegan or trade in my car for one that runs on soy-bean oil, but i recycle A LOT and i try to buy environmentally-friendly goods and shutting off lights and that kinda thing.

i do support congressional action that limits deforestation and increased funding for national parks and other wildlife protections. i do however support the oil drilling in alaska because the pros of it outweigh the cons by far. get over it people. its an area of 2 square miles that will be decimated. if 2 square miles can make us independent (haha we can dream rite?) of mideast oil i say GO FOR THE FUCKIN OIL IN ALASKA!

to summarize. i am not a hippie but i like the environment.

the end times

me and a chum were pretty bored a few hours ago and we had a discussion about the apocalypse. (guys, this is completely normal for me. ive discussed everything on aim from how most of what we know about vikings is a myth and the stuff we do know applies to the berserkers to why mel gibson is an awesome guy) our conversation was all over the place so i'll concentrate my thoughts in this post.

i should start out by saying that we both watched (by sheer coincidence) a history channel program about different prophecies about the end of the world. i remember from spanish, the video we watched talked about how the mayans calendar will continue to function until 12-21-2012, the day the world would end in their culture. hmm. not too far away.

so ive done all the doomsday posts about WWIII and my thoughts on that so i wont bore you with all the details again. but basically i wouldnt be surprised at all if the world ended in a little over 5 years. this world is fucked up and its all thanks to Abraham. father of monotheism. if we want to survive as a world we gotta A. kill every christian B. kill every muslim C. kill every jew. no wait, you gotta pick 2/3 choices. we gotta leave only one monotheistic religion in this world if we want to end the conflict. but of course thats not going to happen.

even if the Antichrist creates a genocide of 2/3 of those, the Son of Man will come down and wreak a terrible vengeance thus saving mankind.

where will the AC spring up? my bet is A. Russia B. Iran or C. Iraq in order of my preference. never trust russia guys. putin is not our friend. hes a good actor and has duped a lot of the world. watch that man and his nation.

the AC won't spring up in western europe, the americas, or the far east. it'll be in the mid-east, the most volatile region of the world ever since the creation of israel in 1947.

i think its pretty fascinating that two prophecy-maker? oracle? i'll say oracle. came up with the same date, 2012, in two separate regions of the world. altho i put the most of my stock in the Book of Revelation. after all, 70% of the Bible's prophecies have been fulfilled. they were all accurate. 30% remain in BoR. we'll see what happens. out with the sin and in with the Son. thats what i always say.

US will respond with nukes on the middle east which will unleash all hell upon this earth wiping out millions, possibly billions. mass extinction #5 in our history. this time, its humans. not dinos.

math makes sense

so what is there to do when you're at home sick AGAIN and theres nobody online to talk to cuz everyones out partying it up? why blog of course! just some random thoughts going through my head rite now. nothing important as usual.

saw the doctor today and he says that its just a virus and theres nothing he can do to make it go away. just gotta let it run its course. that pisses me off. im extremely contagious, my voice is 99% gone, and i cant do anything cuz i dont want to give this to anyone else. well, there are a few people i'd like to infect, but i'll be un caballero and sit at home.

i never really thought i'd say this before, but i like math. well, not in the way you're thinking. im not talking about any class, i just mean in general. i mean, when you've got an equation and all to solve, theres a right answer and theres a wrong answer. thats that. theres no gray area.

and basically life is the complete opposite. girls especially. honestly, guys make sense. they make a lot of sense. i understand guys. girls. gosh, once you think you understand how they think and feel, something new gets thrown in and you're back to square one. see, its not like that with math. math is cut and dried. i understand math. i can do math. i will never understand the female of our specie. never.

kinda like age of mythology. i like that game because im in control. i am the hero and i can plan out my war strategy accordingly and everyone does what i say no matter what, unconditionally, cuz they're virtual and cant think for themselves. in addition to that the gods favor me. zeus gives me so many blessings and loki is one awesome god. his fire giants kick ass. its kinda nice when gods really like you and favor you.

oh and happy MARCH SECOND!!!! FEBRUARY IS OVER!!!!! w00t w00t w00t! february is gone and done with and its time to move on. spring is almost here and i need a new beginning. it will be nice to start over fresh again.

spring also brings the promise of my birthday which will be nice. now i can get into an R rated movie by myself legally! huzzah!

the one thing that i hate about my car is that it blows heat even when the heater is off. seriously, if you are lucky enough to go for a ride with me, put your hand up against the heating vents and it will be streaming out even when the heater is off. my dad said somethin about the force of me accelerating pushes it back into the car. not sure about that but i suppose it makes sense.

i normally dont have the AC or the heat on. when its hot outside i'll have the windows down and when its cold i'll have my jacket on so its all good. if the lady wants some heat i'll put it on but other than that i dont need it. i guess im really warm-blooded or somethin. my parents are always complaining about how cold it is but im perfectly fine with it.

i can go outside with just a tshirt jeans and sweat jacket when its 20 degrees. that works for me..... doesnt it work for everyone? maybe i have a special gene that allows heat to stay inside of me more efficiently. hmm, darwins theory of evolution at work? i have the superior gene so i will be more suited to survive and when i reproduce i'lll pass the gene on to my offspring. sounds like fun.

im kinda tired now. i suppose i should get some sleep and hopefully get my voice back. i hate not having a voice. i hate it.

the title is supposed to mean "speak up" at least thats how senora jones always said it in 7th-8th grade. it literally means "in high voice" i dunno.

so you're probably wondering by now, jason, its thursday nite (well we have no skool tmrw so its the equivalent of friday night) why the hell are you at home blogging? *sigh* its not of my free will, but its because of my throat. it hurts like hell and the only thing that makes it better is constant flow of liquid/ice cream.

hell, ive drinken at least 3 water bottles in the past 6 hours. its crazy. my bottles getting pretty low now. time to refill :P anyways, being the chivalrous gentleman that i am, i refuse to go outside and infect anyone with this sickness so i will be at home and listen to my parents ramble on about everything from the price of milk to the waltons. whoop dee doo.

ugh i hate being sick. altho i must say that it has its perks. for the first time in my high school career i said NOTHING during a circle discussion. not a word. i mean, come on, we're talking about jason the loudmouth sayin nothing.... it was hard. what was harder was when people yell to you in the hallway and you cant yell back so they get pissed and dont know that theres a good reason why you cant yell it out.

it wasnt too bad. i gave the brothers the black power salute instead of the usual "what up with it" joking on that one. altho i suggest trying that when you have white and nerdy blasting from your car and yer waiting at a red next to a car full of gangstas. try it :P

and i gotta remember to ask mr b whether or not hes seen borat. tuesday. johnny b. borat. got it. gym class was cool today. im pretty convinced that theres an anti-volleyball magnet inside of me. i think the ball came in my area about 4-5 times during the whole game versus 20-30 for the other guys. im not complaining but i would like to get better at the game and u cant do that by standing around thinking about the girl you like.
