the warchiefs <- a critique

*yawn* hardly anyones online so nows about a good time to review the new AoE expansion - the warchiefs. yes it has consumed quite a bit of my time recently (especially with break here) and i think that it was all worth it.

new stuff? well its got 3 new major civilizations with 3 new leaders for the skirmish mode - Cuohtehmoc (sry, i dont ally with him very often. basically, hes the last emperor of the aztec empire after moctezuma and the other dude everyone forgets about) Gall, and Hiawatha. my favorite is gall because he has a good attack strength and he can convert treasure guardians from a foe into a friend. this is VERY handy in the discovery age when u dont have an army. capturing all dem treasures.

a feature i love is the revolution. ¡viva la revolución! u split from your mother country and form your own government with a new leader. u can choose anyone from george washington to simon bolivar each helping out your new military in some way or another. i personally like the leader that grants you 3 IRONCLAD ships. yeah, try sinking one of those u monitors. plus the gattling guns are better than the organ guns from the spanish.

my homecity is paris, france. my leader is the legendary napoleon bonaparte. rite now its level 40, but my goal is 50 by the end of next week. (maybe if i didnt have all that poly sci hw to do i'd be there by sunday.....)

my favorite army is (as the game plays on) 1. roughly 20 skirmishers, leader, 2 falconets, 8 crossbowmen. 2. roughly 30 skirmishers, 5 falconets, leader, 5 cuirassers. 3. about 40 votigers, 8 field guns, 7 cuirassers. yeah. try stopping that friggin army. especially when i upgrade to imperial votigers and field guns.

the new campaigns? eh, they're fun. thats it. nuthin really special. i liked incorporating george armstrong custer in the game, but other than that its ok. i still like morgan black's campaigns the best, but then again the black family is pretty damn awesome.

new maps? hellz yeah! northwest territory is a fun map to play, and i just downloaded plymouth so that should be interesting.

on to le piece 'de resistance (yeah i know i butchered that. shut up.) the collector's edition of AoE III showed a pic of AoE IV and AoE V!!!!!!

how incredible is that? i really hope that AoE IV is a WWII combat game (kinda like medal of honor) and not a 2006 (well 07 or 08 when it comes out) wargame. that'd suck. but yeah, im psyched about using nukes on enemies hahaha.

the icing on the cake is that AoE V is set in futuristic times. theres even a rumor circulating around the net that AoE V is going to be merged with a new game called "halo wars" thats coming out in the halo saga. i think that woudl be so fuckin awesome if the game that a lot of my friends play and the game that i play would merge into a single series.

so all in all, i'd give the warchiefs an 8.5/10 because its an awesome game, but the expansion doesnt offer that that much.

ps the saloons are pretty sweet ;)

yeehaw vermont!

want a blog about turkey day? eh, mine was pretty boring (like the rest of my life) just the usual stuff u can expect such as visits from relatives and turkey and all that jazz. nuthin special.

today was special. so im surfing www.tvshowsondvd.com (excellent source of info on everything DVD-related) and i come across this show called "postcards from buster" with a pic of a rabbit on it. normally i wouldve kept going, but i stopped and remembered this show i used to watch in first grade. it was called "arthur" and it had all kinds of animals and stuff in it. i remember it was on right after magic school bus, and basically watching those 2 shows was my number one priority after a hard day of first grade work. (those were the days eh? i'd pay a million bucks to go back to that blissful ignorance instead of bein here now angry and confused)

so im intrigued by this and click on it. basically its some kind of spin off of the arthur show where the rabbit goes and visits places across the USA, but what caught my eye was the word "controversial" labeled on the page. i was like holy crud, what could be controversial about a kids show? i read on and i bust out laughing. this DVD contained the "forbidden episode" that featured the rabbit visiting two lesbians with children in vermont!!!!!!!

i am laughing so hard and i say to myself I GOTTA SEE THIS SHOW!!!!

so i order it from the library today and i watched it today with my cuzs. it was so fuckin hysterical. the rabbit (buster) went in the house and the kids show him all their family pictures and the little girl says "i have two mommies" and me and my cuz are laughing our asses off. they weren't hot so i dont care that they werent kissing or anything.

but yeah, supposedly this kids show showed a family with two lesbians as parents with 3 kids in the house. amazing. only on a liberal channel such as PBS. oh and they lived in vermont. hence the title.

hahaha lesbians. its like on www.tshirthell.com "i only support gay marriage if both chicks are hot." classic.

and i leave u with a thought-provoking question. which is better? muhammed ali in his prime or anti-lock brakes?

"good night sweet prince"

doomsday --> 11-7-06

as im sure you all know, the republicans have lost control of congress this past week. i have plenty to say on this matter, but i'll keep this entry short and include in it exactly what republicans stand for. no, i didnt write the rest of this, but i wish i did lol.

"A political party should have a set of abiding principles that will help guide its representatives towards where they should stand on the issues. If members of that party lose sight of those principles, it becomes all too easy for them to simply make bad decisions based on the shifting political winds of the moment. So, with that in mind, here are some the Republican Party principles that GOPers in Congress should keep in mind when they're trying to decide what to do in Washington.

Among other things, the Republican Party should be:

The "America First" party.
The capitalist party.
The daddy party
The law and order party.
The party of free trade.
The party of honest government and reform.
The party of low taxes.
The party of moral values.
The party of optimism.
The party of personal responsibility.
The party of small government.
The party of strong national defense.
The party that believes in defending America.
The party that believes in sticking to the Constitution as closely as possble.
The party that's friendly to Christians.
The party that believes the business of America is business.
The party of fiscal responsibility.
The patriotic party.
The pro-life party"
